  Tony P. Mirenda. P.E.
President & CEO
In TBI's more than $1 billion construction volume portfolio, Tony has supervised construction of numerous landmark buildings in the Santa Clara Valley and is an acknowledged expert on historical restorations, seismic retrofitting and construction management for the public sector. He's been a California Registered Professional Civil Engineer, California Licensed General Contractor, and is involved with the Earthquake Engineering Research Institute, the American Society of Civil Engineers, and the United States Green Building Council among many other professional organizations. He serves on many boards and committees for private and non-profit organizations. He joined TBI in 1987 after working with the Carl N. Swenson Co., Inc. following his graduation from Santa Clara University in 1982 where he obtained a Bachelors of Science degree in Civil Engineering. He was born, raised, educated and still resides in Silicon Valley with his wife and two children and is an ardent sports fan. He enjoys fishing, golfing, woodworking, theater, and coaching in youth sports.
     
  Dan Breeding
Chief Operating Officer and Vice Chairman of the Board
Dan co-founded TBI with Chuck in 1983, after serving as Project Manager and Manager of the Interior Construction Department of Carl N. Swenson Construction Company. Over the years he has planned and supervised over $15 million of interior construction projects, and developed and managed over 600,000 square feet of interior space construction. Since founding TBI he has been involved with projects for Sun MicroSystems, the Seton Medical Center, the California Court of Appeals, and a number of banks. Dan has served on several boards, including the Metro YMCA and California Society for Hospital Engineering. Dan attended the University of Santa Clara and San Jose State.
     
  Sheila Breeding
Vice President / Cheif Financial Officer
Sheila has served as TBI's Cheif Financial Officer since its inception in 1983. She met Dan, her husband of 48 years, while she was working for Carl N. Swenson Construction Co. in the 1960s. When TBI was founded, she was a natural to step in as Vice President of Finance, bringing to the position 18 years of contract administration and accounting experience. Her no-nonsense business philosophy and financial savvy have been invaluable assets to TBI's continued success. Sheila's extensive community involvement includes serving on boards of The American Cancer Society, Silicon Valley COMPAC and The Crippled Children's Society (VIA). She enjoys ice skating, fly fishing, hunting and snow skiing and is an ardent San Jose Sharks fan.
     
  Rick Leisinger
Vice President, Director of Pre-Construction / Business Development
Rick joined the TBI team in June 2001 after working as general contractor / independent construction manager for Intel Corp. in Santa Clara California. Rick began his career in construction right after graduating high school in 1973 when he entered the carpenter apprentice program in Mountain View. After a brief tour in the Armed services where he was attached to a Civil engineering wing in Sacramento Rick decided to move back to the bay area and began his career as a general contractor in the early 1980, s. Rick career path predominantly followed the growth of the Semiconductor / Electronics Industry through the 80’s and 90’s. Notable projects Rick became intimately involved with during his 30 + years of construction included projects such as Stanford Linear Accelerator, The Dumbarton Bridge, Intel’s D2P3 Class 1 clean room in Santa Clara, Samaritan Medical Center Office and Parking Structure in Los Gatos, Dominican Sisters Care Facility in Mission San Jose and Palo Alto Golf & Country Club Fitness Center / Club House expansion. Ricks is an avid sportsman and spends his off hours on his enjoying the great outdoors fishing & hunting.
     
  Ben Petty
Vice President / LEED AP
Ben Petty joined TBI in 2001 coming from a family long involved in the construction industry. His focus is mainly on special projects, construction management jobs and pushing TBI to the forefront of the green and sustainable building movement. His interest in philanthropic projects has led TBI to participate in the Dreams Happen biennial fundraising event. He has headed major construction management projects with the San Jose Unified School District as well as school districts of Milpitas, Morgan Hill and Campbell. Notable private sector projects to his credit include Moreau Catholic High School, St. Francis High School and St. Josephs Church. Ben holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Civil Engineering from Santa Clara University and is a LEED Accredited Professional. Outside of TBI, Ben is a family man at heart and thoroughly enjoys the outdoors with his wife and two children.
     
  Art Simione
Vice President
Art joined TBI Construction in 1995 after working for Carl N Swenson Company for many years. Coming from a construction family, Art began his career in 1966, on the bottom rung of the ladder, by pulling nails and digging ditches. In his 44 year climb since then, Art has been involved in all phases of construction from pre-planning to successful completion. He has worked on all types of construction projects including tennant improvements, seismic upgrades, historic renovations, ground-up construction as well as construction management projects in the public sector. As Vice President, Art oversees the entire construction process of every TBI project. Keys to his success in this role have been his expertise in scheduling and logistical planning and his precise attention to quality control and jobsite safety. He enjoys fishing, hunting, playing golf and spending time with his family at his home in the Sierras.
