The former Cook Mansion on the Alameda in San Jose had fallen into some
disrepair during the 1980's, thanks to a string of commercial tenants
who had little respect for the architectural beauty that lay hidden
under the years of neglect. When TBI moved into the second floor, the The entire floor was renovated, including restoration of original tiles, woodwork and the old-California architectural touches that once made the mansion a proud member of San Jose's elite. A skilled artisan was brought aboard to restore the ornate designs in the vaulted ceilings, matching the original artwork and style. As TBI expanded, the company took over the entire building and set out to recreate the workplace into what is today a showpiece for TBI's restoration and modernization expertise. Eventually, TBI constructed an additional building behind the headquarters, matching the architecture, look and style of the original structure. Visitors are consistently impressed by the building's charm and artistic detail, and our employees give testimony that TBI "is a lovely place to work."
