St. Joseph's Cathedral Cathedral Basilica of St. Joseph in downtown San Jose stands as not only the centerpiece of the city's Catholic community, it is truly one of TBI's signature accomplishments. What began as a small adobe church in 1803, adjacent to the first civil settlement in Alta California, is now one of the more spectacular churches in the state. The five-year labor of love began with badly needed structural repair and seismic strengthening and concluded with extensive, careful restoration and renovation. TBI was chosen for the project because of our skill in the latest preservation construction techniques.
