Dan and Sheila Breeding Honored by San Jose Silicon Valley Chamber of Commerce

Dominican Sisters Chapel & Care Center Projects in Mission San Jose

The 50 year-old Chapel Building, treated with loving care by the Dominican Sisters, was ready for modernization and seismic upgrades. TBI performed seismic strengthening of the 4,000 sq ft structure and added new high quality finishes along with new mechanical/electrical
infrastructure. The combination of careful restoration and modernization included new Chapel lighting, a new audio & visual system which broadcast the sermons in to the adjacent Care Center, stained glass window restoration, new translucent skylights, liturgical renovation to
adapt to Vatican II Principles, and a complete remodeling of their basement hall and ancillary spaces.

The Care Center project included a complete renovation of a 2-story Care Center building that serves as a senior care center for up to 25 elderly Sisters.  Project features included seismic strengthening, complete room remodeling with restrooms, and new social and dining spaces.
Additionally, a new plaza garden courtyard with fountain was constructed to provide additional outdoor space for gatherings. 

Both projects were complete in early 2005 in time for the Easter festivities.
