Simpson Thacher's Palo Alto office is in the heart of Silicon Valley. The Palo Alto office provides the Firm with more immediate access to its large and growing list of high technology clients, making it easier for the Firm to serve the increasingly sophisticated legal needs of the technology community. The office also brings the Firm closer to its many other clients based in Northern California. The Palo Alto office opened in September 1999 with 14 attorneys, including 4 partners. In less than five years, the Palo Alto office has grown to more than 40 attorneys, including eleven partners, practicing in a wide range of corporate and litigation areas as well as in the areas of executive compensation and employee benefits, intellectual property and technology law, and tax.
