Dan and Sheila Breeding Honored by San Jose Silicon Valley Chamber of Commerce
|
The lists are long and read like a who’s who of area organizations dedicated to the public good. As an example of countless contributions over the years, TBI execs recently pitched in with money and manpower to help build a new art loft for the Children’s Discovery Museum in San Jose. On an individual basis, President and CEO Tony Mirenda divides his time between a variety of professional organizations and activities such as CYO youth basketball, Little League Baseball, and the Boy Scouts of America. Tony also recently served as Division Manager of the YMCA Capital Drive. Company founders Chuck Toeniskoetter and Dan Breeding’s names are synonymous with many community organizations and causes. The San Jose Silicon Valley Chamber of Commerce recently awarded its prestigious Leadership Excellence Community Award to Dan and Sheila Breeding. Between them, the Breedings have participated in more than twenty different service organizations – and serve as board members of thirteen of those organizations. The Breedings have been active members and generous contributors to the American Cancer Society, YMCA, Cattle Baron’s Ball, the Lincoln Club of Northern California, the San Jose Silicon Valley Chamber of Commerce, the California Society for Hospital Engineering-South Bay, American Musical Theater and Rotary Club of Downtown San Jose. Dan Breeding is most proud of his involvement with the Knights of St. John-San Jose Order, which provides assistance to several local organizations and Chairman of Mt. Hermon Ministries. Dan is also serving his second year with Grand Prix San Jose helping to raise money for early cancer detection. Chuck Toeniskoetter has served on the boards of more than 12 community organizations, including the San Jose Water Company and the Children's Discovery Museum. Chuck’s latest passion has been the Stroke Awareness Foundation, which he co-founded. Over the years, Chuck has been recognized for helping non-profit organizations, receiving the 2004 Distinguished Leadership Award from the Boy Scout Council of Santa Clara County. He has served on the boards of the Chamber of Commerce, San Jose Water, and Heritage Commerce Corp. He has actively volunteered for Notre Dame University, Downtown San Jose Rotary, O'Connor Hospital, Valley Medical Foundation, and Children's Discovery Museum. The lists go on, especially among the dedicated staff at TBI, from Senior Housing Solutions, Inc. to Symphony Silicon Valley. Dedication to community and dedication to profession are the hallmarks of TBI.
