Saint Francis High School in Mountain View, California is known for athletics, in particular the award winning water polo program. However, keeping up with the campus energy demands can strain the school’s operating budget. That’s why St. Francis engaged with TBI Energy to help reduce wasted energy at their beautiful and popular aquatics center.
Recently, TBI Energy helped the school get started with this initiative using a VFD (Variable Frequency Drive) for the pool pump to save approximately 100,000 KWhours per year.
This first phase of a comprehensive Energy Efficiency Initiative is completed. It should pay for itself in under a year and includes an $11,000 rebate from PG&E. Next phase is a combined heat and power generation (co-gen) unit.
TBI Energy recently secured an additional $15,000 rebate to help fund a new motorized pool cover. Solar assist and a potential campus-wide energy management system are planned.
